Job Description:

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a critical role in the growth of the Company, by developing partnerships with existing and new clients and identifying new growth opportunities. The ideal candidate for this position should be someone with previous analytical chemistry laboratory experience but have the desire to move to a business development capacity.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Attracting new clients by innovating and overseeing the sales process for the business
  • Working with senior team members to identify and manage company risks that might prevent the growth
  • Identifying and researching opportunities that come up in new and existing markets
  • Preparing and delivering pitches and presentations to potential new clients
  • Combining efforts and fostering a collaborative environment within the business as a whole
  • Communicating with clients to understand their needs and offer solutions to their problems
  • Creating positive, long-lasting relationships with current and potential clients
  • Running outbound campaigns (phone calls, emails, etc.) to create sales opportunities
  • Maintaining client activities in CRM
  • Developing and presenting proposals customized for each client’s specific business needs
  • Ensuring excellent customer service through regular client follow-up
  • Developing rapport with key decision-makers
  • Translating proposals into ready-to-sign contracts
  • Owning the sales lifecycle from prospecting to implementation
  • Managing virtual and in-person sales meetings
  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Owns the contract and contract renewals for new work for an existing client.
  • Works closely with the project team to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project.
  • Aware and in pursuit of opportunities for account growth and new business opportunities.
  • Communicates the client's goals and represents the client's interests to the company’s executive management.
  • Provides regular two-way communication between the client and the company, to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations.
  • Understanding of company capabilities and service, and effectively communicating all offerings to the client.
  • Reports to the company’s management, providing regular input on all account activity, including status and call reports every week.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

  • Ensures that client needs are dealt with in an efficient manner
  • Establishing productive relationships with key decision-makers in the FDA-regulated industries (pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology companies)
  • Assessing, clarifying, and validating client's needs on an ongoing basis.
  • · Working closely with clients to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within the project.
  • Providing regular two-way communication between the client and the company, to provide strong representation and set proper client expectations.
  • Understanding the company's capabilities and service, and effectively communicating all offerings to the client.
  • Meeting assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University Degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry is a must. 
  • Business Development Experience for CRO (Required)
  • Minimum 5+ years of sales experience with business-to-business sales skills.
  • Must have closing skills, motivation for sales, prospecting skills, sales planning, and the ability to sell to clients' needs.
  • Must be goal-oriented, persistent, and a skilled negotiator.
  • Must have a high level of initiative and work well in a team environment.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Pay
Applicants willing to work based on commission only during the first three months will receive priority and higher commission.
